I am pleased to say that there is/was no need to miss out on a fine knife set.In fact, while I have always valued having good knives easily available,since buying this set I have discovered that they can be an anchor forquickly pulling together a kitchen. These knives stay sharp and take careof every task. They feel comfortable in the hand. The only knife I'vebought since is a cleaver to ease the preperation of asian dishes, and thatwas not essential. This set is a must have if you're starting from scratch.
