Long Version: I have a lot of experience with kitchen knives and I recently purchased a set of these on-line.For $25-30, this is a pretty fair set for a very good price.It's better than the junk my girlfriend was using, so they've become her regular set.(Although when they arrived, they were all in need of sharpening. - This was not a problem for me, as I used to do that professionally)

Understand what you're getting: This set is *not* up to the quality of the Wustof or Henckels professional lines (yes, theymake cheaper lines too).These Chicago Cutlery knives may be forged, but that's only part of the processes that are involved in making a superior knife.The steel used in these knives is not the same high quality, and the tempering process is different than from the high-end lines.

But honestly, for most people, the Wustof or Henckels are way more than what they need.And you're talking more like $400 - $450 for a set.

If you've owned a top of line set from Henckels or Wustof (again not they're cheaper stuff), and you use them enough to appreciate the differences in quality...this won't satisfy you.But for anyone else, this is probably a big step up from what you have.
