(More customer reviews)The knife block is made in Malaysia with typical hardwood. Nothing fancy. It's good for the price. What matters is that 19 slots, especially a slot for a cleaver that I really need it. It holds 2 santoku knives very well. The 8 steak knives slots are very useful that use to store paring and peeling knives instead. Also easy to acccess and grab the knives. It looks big in the picture and it is a lot bigger than my old standard block, but it doesn't take much more room since I put it in the corner.Happy that I bought it.
